 Momentum has been selected by the Tides Canada Foundation as one of the Top 10 Charities in Canada for 2007!
Momentum, who is the parent organization for the SPP, has been selected as one of the Top 10 Charities in Canada for 2007. The Tides Canada Foundation chose Momentum for its award-winning Community Economic Development (CED) programs which includes business development programs that annually reach over 300 people and support 50 small business startups, lending over 300 Micro Business Loans with over $900,000 invested and a repayment rate of 90%, matching the savings of over 800 individuals and families with more than $1 million under their matched savings program and supporting over 30 people who have been able to purchase homes with their matched savings, training over 500 immigrants and Aboriginal people for careers in trades - many of them tripling their earnings in less than five years. This increasingly popular marketing trend is criticized for lacking regulation and accountability, especially when details are missing of how much a donation is actually being made or when a specific charity is not mentioned.
